Day 1 - Marseille

Arrive: Sat 27 November 2021 / Depart: Sat 27 November 2021

A pleasant thing to do is simply sit down at one of the cafes overlooking the port of Marseilles and, sipping a Pastis, observe the landscape and the people who inhabit it. Also called the "Porpoise City ", Marseille is France’s sunniest town, charming with its gullies where you can swim, its history and culture and restaurants with cosmopolitan cuisine. You cannot leave without having first toured on the “Cours Julien”, the street for shopping. The port of Marseille is perhaps a typical tourist destination, but it deserves to be visited for the ferry that leaves from the Town Hall and the old church, which replaced a Templar building.

Day 2 - Savona

Arrive: Sun 28 November 2021 / Depart: Sun 28 November 2021

Above the port of Savona, the Priamar Fortress greets every departure and arrival of the Costa ships sailing in the Mediterranean. Genoa and its aquarium are nearby. The port of Savona, which you can explore during your cruise in Italy, is one of the prettiest of the Italian Riviera. The lovely climate, summers that are never to hot, mild winters and the exceptional beauty of the sea near the town makes Savona an excellent base to set out to explore Liguria. Savona is notable for the Priamar Fortress, which has dominated the town since the 16th century, and also for its historic centre where you can visit Savona Cathedral. A stop in Savona can also be an opportunity to visit the nearby city of Genoa and its narrow, picturesque streets, known as “caruggi”.

Day 3 - At sea

Day 4 - Palermo

Arrive: Tue 30 November 2021 / Depart: Tue 30 November 2021

Palermo is the capital of the Italian island of Sicily. The 12th-century Palermo Cathedral houses royal tombs, while the huge neoclassical Teatro Massimo is known for opera performances. Also in the center are the Palazzo dei Normanni, a royal palace started in the 9th century, and the Cappella Palatina, with Byzantine mosaics. Busy markets include the central Ballarò street market and the Vucciria, near the port.

Day 6 - At sea

Day 7 - Limassol

Arrive: Fri 03 December 2021 / Depart: Fri 03 December 2021

In Limassol the ancient buildings, which echo the deeds of Richard the Lionheart, create a fascinating contrast with the modern structures enriched by the murals of street art. Limassol is the economic capital of the south coast of Cyprus. Visit the port of Limassol, which is part of the historical legacy of the city, and go to the castle to discover the exploits of Richard the Lionheart and the medieval past of the city. In a blend of eras and cultures, the ancient buildings coexist with modern structures and graffiti street art. Admire the Turkish architecture, enjoy a kebab and visit the park of sculptures before the cruise resumes on its course.

Salalah is the country’s second largest city, the administrative capital of the region of Dhofar and lies over 1,000 km from the capital Muscat. Its climate is temperate all year round thanks to the influence of monsoons making Salalah a tropical city with lush vegetation: agriculture provides plenty of fresh fruit and coconuts. However there is much more to the economy of the region than agriculture: fabric and leather production, handicrafts, fishing and also shipyards and especially tourism are the main resources of a growing economy. In spite of the rather closed character typical of the era prior to Qaboos Bin Said’s government, the town has a multicultural side: the largest immigrant community is Indian with its own private school, “Indian School Salalah”. Indians make up 14% of the population today, followed by Pakistanis (8%) and by other ethnic immigrant groups

Unlike the latter, Doha is not a famous tourist destination but offers some interesting attractions and a glittering skyline that is constantly changing. The Mosque of Phanar and the large souks are located in the heart of the city centre. The newly built Mosque is a fine example of Islamic architecture, with the particular spiral minaret, which is perfectly equal from whatever angle you look at it. See it at night too, when it is enhanced by magnificent lighting effects. In the nearby souks, immerse yourself in Middle Eastern flair: colours, scents, typical small shops run by men only, fabrics and traditional dresses. The most valuable part is hidden in the Gold Souk, where gold is sold by weight and is of good quality.
