Northwest of Amsterdam is the large, tranquil beach of IJmuiden. And then straight to the city, where you'll be overwhelmed by the beauty of this unique capital. Amsterdam was once a small fishing village that developed due to the various influences it came under. Today, the city is an international destination for tourism and culture. As soon as you arrive at the port of Amsterdam, you'll sense the contagious atmosphere that pervades it and the culture of sharing. Spend some time visiting the Gothic church of Nieuwe Kerk and then dive into the past by visiting the Anne Frank House in the Grachtengordel district. Complete your visit with a walk in the Oud-West district, with its bars and its characteristic "Brown Cafés".

Måløy is a town in the municipality of Kinn in Vestland county, Norway. Måløy is located on the southeastern side of the island of Vågsøy, about 3 kilometres northeast of the village of Holvika and about 6 kilometres south of the village of Raudeberg.

Day 5 - Trondheim

The Norway is a fascinating country famous for its natural beauty, but also for its architectural beauty, as can be seen when we stop at the port of Trondheim. Trondheim, once called Nidaros, was the capital of Norway until 1217. Today it is a university town, characterised by a dynamic and thriving cultural scene. The port of Trondheim will enable you to discover the gastronomic aspect of the city with its bars, cafés, restaurants and food and beer festivals. During your stay, take time to stroll through the city, cross the bridge of the old town and visit the royal residence (Stiftsgården). Don't miss historical sites such as the cathedral of Nidaros, which was built around the tomb of King Olav Haraldsson.

Day 6 - Andalsnes

If you love the fascinating landscapes of the north, take a Costa Cruise to Norway. In Åndalsnes you can go on invigorating walks along the Trolls Road. Located southwest of Norway, on the banks of the Rauma River that flows into the fjord Romsdal, the town of Åndalsnes is surrounded by mountains and sublime landscapes. The famous Trolls’ Road (Trollstingen), one of the most beloved of Norway, is a magnificent dry fjord whose beauty you can contemplate from the top. Climbing enthusiasts can scale the cliff walls of Trolls to a height of 1100 metres. Fun fact: once you leave the port of Åndalsnes, you'll be amazed by the chapel wagon located in front of the station.

Day 6 - Molde, Norway

Molde, situated on the Romsdalsfjord, is known as the “city of roses”, because it is the only Norwegian city where the climate allows them to grow. Molde, nicknamed the rose city because of the many roses that are located in its grounds, is situated on a magnificent fjord in southwestern Norway. Once you arrive at the port of Molde, visit the Museum of Romsdal, which exhibits the different buildings and regional interiors from the 16th to the 19th century. Finally, take advantage of the break to travel a road surrounded by greenery and leading you to the Varden viewpoint. From here you can enjoy a great view of the city, the beautiful fjord of Romsdal and its surrounding 222 snowy peaks.

Day 7 - Olden

Jostedalsbreen is the largest glacier in Europe and is located in Norway near the port of Olden, which we visit on our Costa Cruise. Enjoy a stop at the port of Olden to discover the wonders of a charming Norwegian village. You can enjoy spectacular views of the landscape in a helicopter overflying the Jostedalsbreen glacier, the largest glacier in Europe, or discover fairytale landscapes crossing Lake Lovatnet by boat or visiting the fascinating Museum of Glaciers, located in the beautiful plain of Fjærland.

Day 8 - Vik

The Norwegian village of Vik stands on a huge bay between the sea and the mountains of Sognefjord, and is believed by many to be where the Viking civilisation originated. Similarly to the nearby village of Flam, it is located at one of the most beautiful spots on the spectacular Sognefjord, 'the fjord of all fjords'. A number of sites in the area, including ancient Borgund Hopperstand, Undredal Kaupanger and Umes, have been declared monuments of great historical interest by Unesco. The area features a number of fascinating museums and the local population defend their heritage with enthusiasm. As well as beautifully preserved ancient churches the area also exhibits evidence of former pagan worship. Arriving at Vik by sea is a magnificent experience, offering incredible views of the dramatic landscape. Breath-taking views can also be enjoyed via a short railway journey that climbs 900 metres into the mountains, a marvellous feat of engineering.

Day 9 - Bergen, Norway

The ancient Norwegian city of Bergen is embraced by the mountains and waters of the fjord, it is a natural fusion that makes it a unique destination in Northern Europe. A cruise to Bergen will take you to the mediaeval district of Bryggen, a World Heritage Site. It is located on the city's waterfront and embodies the history of the ancient port of Bergen. Once a city of the Hanseatic League, the alliance that controlled the trade routes of Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea in the 14th century, today its past is palpable along the narrow alleys lined with colourful wooden houses and in the fish market. Bremerhaven, on Germany’s North Sea coast, is about 50 kilometres from the city of Bremen. It has its own enthralling atmosphere, due, in part, to its interesting harbour. This young coastal city has many attractions, including a fine zoo near to the sea. During our cruise to Germany, we’ll stop at the port of Bremerhaven where the story of German maritime history was born. Rebuilt after World War II, the city is today, an expression of a young and open Germany Take advantage of this stop in the port of Bremerhaven to discover a city that is a symbol of German maritime history. It was a naval base for the German army during World War II, then completely destroyed and rebuilt after the war. Bremerhaven has interesting historical attractions. You can visit, for example, the German Emigration Centre, one of the largest museums in Europe dedicated to the history of German emigration to the United States. Enjoy the breathtaking views of this city with a young and friendly atmosphere and treat yourself to a visit to the zoo with its Arctic wildlife section.
