Richard was very helpful and eventually we settled on a cruise even if it was not the one I originally asked for

Mr Carruth / January 2022

Great experience and that’s before we go!

The agent was quick to pick up on what we wanted and gave us options. He didn’t put pressure on us to book when we said we wanted to think about it and it was the whole booking experience that made Scotland’s cruise centre the one we chose to book with. No one else came near

Day 1 - Istanbul

Arrive: Sat 16 April 2022

For poets, Istanbul, next to Venice and Rome is the loveliest city in Europe and one of the most splendid in Asia. It is the only city in the world spread over two continents, separated by the Bosphorus. Istanbul was founded by Greek scouts in 660 BC and later became capital of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. With its 3,000 years of history behind, it has always been the meeting point of East and West. It is a city filled with wonders of architecture and monuments to the faiths that inspired them. Formerly known as Byzantium, then Constantinople, its mosques, minarets and museums span two continents where the Bosphorus divides Asia from Europe. This strategic position has assured Istanbul's status as a crossroads for trade and cultural exchange during the centuries. Must-see attractions include the dazzling treasury in Topkapi Palace and exquisite buildings of timeless beauty such as the Blue Mosque and Basilica of St. Sophia. Even those who are not avid shoppers will be enticed by the colorful sights and sounds of the world's largest bazaar.

Day 3 - Nessebar

Arrive: Mon 18 April 2022 at 07:30 / Depart: Mon 18 April 2022 at 16:00

Replete with narrow cobblestone lanes, quaint houses and an ancient fortress wall with gate and towers, the entire old quarter of Nesebur, Bulgaria, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Two of its churches might have also helped the village earn that distinction. One was built in the 5th century, and is appropriately called the Old Bishopric. The other church is called the New Bishopric; given that it was built in the 10th century, "new" is clearly a relative term in the town of Nesebur.

Day 4 - Odessa

Arrive: Tue 19 April 2022 at 07:30 / Depart: Tue 19 April 2022 at 23:00

Odessa is barely two centuries old, yet it has a wealth of history. A summer retreat of the czars founded by Catherine the Great, this "Pearl of the Black Sea" also hosted Russia's greatest artists, writers and musicians. Many historic opera houses, museums and ballet theaters remain, painted in neoclassical pastel and lining leafy promenades, alongside the impressive onion-domed basilica and the famous Potemkin Steps.

Day 5 - Constanta

Arrive: Wed 20 April 2022 at 09:00 / Depart: Wed 20 April 2022 at 21:00

Constan?a is a city on the shores of the Black Sea, in southeastern Romania. Its long history, which goes back over 2,000 years, is documented at the National History and Archaeology Museum, near the port. The adjacent Roman Mosaics complex displays tiled floors dating back to the 4th century A.D. Nearby, the Great Mahmudiye Mosque is furnished with a vast Persian rug, while its towering minaret overlooks the city.

Day 6 - Cruising the Dardanelles

Day 7 - Athens

Arrive: Fri 22 April 2022 at 08:00 / Depart: Fri 22 April 2022 at 18:00

Piraeus is Greece's largest port and has been a gateway to the Mediterranean since 482 BC. It lies on the innermost point of the Saronic Gulf and is a short drive from Athens, the cradle of Western democracy and culture. Throughout the ages, Athens' lofty Acropolis has been a source of inspiration. The ancient ruins scattered throughout this legendary city are reminders of Greece's great cultural heritage.

Day 8 - Katakolon

Arrive: Sat 23 April 2022 at 08:00 / Depart: Sat 23 April 2022 at 15:00

While the Katakolon's main street is just a five-minute walk from the pier, you will probably want to venture farther out to see the ancient site of Olympia, the storied place where the Olympic Games originated in 776 BC. A look at the impressive monuments, including the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera and the famous stadium, along with a visit to the nearby Archaeological Museum, offers a fascinating introduction to the Games and ancient mythology. Back in town, stroll the oceanfront walkway, relax over ouzo in an open-air café, or engage in a friendly round of haggling for jewelry and handcrafts, a modern-day sporting event that enjoys widespread popularity.

Day 9 - Taormina

Arrive: Sun 24 April 2022 at 07:30 / Depart: Sun 24 April 2022 at 18:00

Nature and history have made Sicily a land of striking contrasts. The largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily was for centuries the center of the known world. Its unique geographic position made the island vulnerable to attacks by foreigners, while also making it a meeting place of Mediterranean civilizations, a bridge between the East and West. The picturesque little town of Taormina enjoys a beauty comprised of light, color and sea. Taormina has no middle tones, no grays and no muted shades. Lying on a short terrace of the coast and dripping off the shoulders of the enormous Mount Etna, Taormina embodies the essence of Sicily.

Day 10 - Sorrento

Arrive: Mon 25 April 2022 at 07:00 / Depart: Mon 25 April 2022 at 18:00

As your ship approaches the Sorrento Peninsula, delight in craggy cliffs draped with flowing pink blossoms.Renowned for its serene way of life, this romantic port exudes a special magic. Its dramatic bluffs and surrounding flowered hills bid travelers welcome to a town overflowing with charm and character. It is easy to relax in this languid southern Italian atmosphere. The sensational Amalfi Coast and the haunting ruins at Pompeii are among the region's highlights.

Day 11 - Rome

Arrive: Tue 26 April 2022 at 07:00 / Depart: Tue 26 April 2022 at 21:00

Your gateway to the Eternal City, Civitavecchia has served as Rome's seaport since the 13th century. The port has a long and venerable history. The emperor Trajan built a pleasure villa near the modern city, while Bernini and Michelangelo designed the harbor fortifications. Yet the Eternal City eternally beckons. The ancient capital of the Western World and the center of Christianity for nearly 2,000 years, Rome provides an inexhaustible feast. Visit the ruins of the Forum, view the splendors of the Sistine Chapel, or climb the Spanish Steps, once the heart of Rome's Bohemian Quarter. Rome has been a magnet luring the world's greatest artists, architects, and philosophers since the days of the Caesars.

Day 12 - Florence/Pisa

Arrive: Wed 27 April 2022 at 07:00 / Depart: Wed 27 April 2022 at 19:00

Goethe once observed that Tuscany "looks like Italy should [look]." Fortunately, little has changed in the two centuries since the German poet was himself a tourist in Tuscany. The Tyrrhenian port of Livorno was founded in the 15th century. It is the gateway to Italy's Tuscan region and to many spectacular sights; including the extraordinary Leaning Tower of Pisa, the charming medieval village of Lucca, the lovely hill town of San Gimignano and the timeless city of Florence. No place is as imbued with such grace, dignity, serenity and history as is Florence. This city's wealth of architectural and artistic treasures includes works by Raphael, da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo. Truly Florence, cradle of the Italian Renaissance, is one of the world's most enticing cities.

Day 13 - Monte Carlo

Arrive: Thu 28 April 2022 at 08:00

Monaco is an ancient principality steeped in rich and colorful history. Its proud monarchy is presided over by Prince Albert, who assumed the throne after his famed father Prince Rainier died in 2005. Today when gazing on its modern skyline, it is hard to imagine that Monaco endured a turbulent past. Once a Greek settlement conquered by the Romans, it was bought from the Genoese in 1309 by the Grimaldis, who still rule as the world's oldest monarchy. Monaco covers less than one square mile and is known primarily for its Grand Casino.
