Julia Bradbury’s Wonders of the Frozen South

Uncover the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica with HX Expeditions

We’re thrilled to share an exciting new TV series that puts one of the world’s most extraordinary regions firmly in the spotlight. Julia Bradbury’s Wonders of the Frozen South is a brand-new 3-part documentary series on ITV, filmed in partnership with HX Expeditions.

Following Julia on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica, the series offers a rare glimpse into the wildlife, landscapes and remote communities of the Southern Ocean – and into what it’s really like to explore this region on a true expedition cruise.

The first episode airs Saturday 15th February at 12:45pm on ITV1, with subsequent episodes airing weekly. A perfect mid-Winter escape and an inspiring introduction to one of the planet’s last great wildernesses.

Across the Series

Over the course of a 23-day expedition voyage aboard HX’s purpose-built expedition ship MS Fram, Julia immerses herself in the frozen south, guided by HX’s expert expedition team. Along the way, viewers will discover:

  • Iconic wildlife encounters in their natural habitats
  • Vast, untouched landscapes that few people ever see
  • The realities of life in some of the world’s most remote places
  • How HX leads the way in responsible, science-led exploration

It’s a powerful reminder of why Antarctica and the Southern Ocean remain true bucket-list destinations.
