Introduction

If you’ve ever looked up at a cruise ship and wondered, “Surely, they can’t get any bigger”, Wonder of the Seas will make you rethink that. She’s enormous, but in a way that feels fun and exciting, rather than intimidating. Instead of feeling like a ship, she comes across more like a floating resort full of colour, movement, and little moments that catch you off guard in the most magical way. No matter who you’re travelling with – kids, your partner, a bunch of friends – you can shape your days however you want. There’s space to unwind, plenty of adrenaline if you want it, and so many dining options that you can’t possibly try them all in one trip. If you’re after a ship that feels easy-going, yet full of “wow” moments… this one ticks the box.

Facilities & Design

Stepping onto Wonder of the Seas really is a “here we go” moment. Like the rest of the Royal Caribbean fleet, her size hits you right away, but thanks to the neighbourhood layout, it never feels overwhelming. You can wander from the leafy calm of Central Park to the funfair-style energy of the Boardwalk in just a few steps, and each space has its own personality. Head up to the Pool & Sports Zone and the whole atmosphere brightens – sunshine, music, bars within reach, and those wide sea views that remind you why cruising is so addictive. At the back of the ship is the AquaTheater, an open-air venue that’s somehow even more impressive in person than it looks in photos. For such a huge ship, she flows perfectly. No endless identical corridors – just thoughtfully designed spaces that gently steer you from one area to the next.

What our Team thought...

“What struck me most was how easy the ship felt to live on. You can wander around without thinking about it, and suddenly you’re somewhere completely different. There are quiet corners when you want them and lively spots when you don’t. For a ship of this size, that’s no small thing.”

Staterooms

The cabins on Wonder strike a nice balance between simple and comfortable. Everything is where you expect it to be, storage is generous, and the beds are remarkably cosy. The decor is calm and modern, so whether you're doing a short getaway or a longer trip, it just works! Inside cabins use space smartly, Ocean View rooms give you that peaceful connection to the water, and Balcony rooms offer your own slice of private outdoor space. The Boardwalk and Central Park balconies come with their own quirks, letting you peek into the neighbourhoods below – perfect for people watching. Whatever you pick, the rooms carry a premium finish and are genuinely relaxing.

What our Team thought...

“After long days out and about, the cabin was somewhere I actually enjoyed coming back to. The bed was comfortable, the layout made sense, and nothing felt cramped. It’s not overdone, just well designed, which makes all the difference on a busy ship.”

Suites

If you want something a little more special, the suites ramp things up beautifully. Even the Junior Suites give you a noticeable boost in space and comfort, while the higher-end options – especially the Ultimate Family Suite – feel like they’ve been created for pure fun. The design in the suite category has a cosy, welcoming feel, with warmer tones and lighting that softens the whole space. You also get access to the Suite Neighbourhood, which includes its own sun deck, a small plunge pool, and Coastal Kitchen. The restaurant is a real highlight – quiet, relaxed, and known for serving some of the best dishes on board. It’s a lovely escape when you want something a bit more refined.

What our Team thought...

“The suite experience feels calmer and more personal. There’s a bit more breathing space, softer finishes, and places where you can properly relax. Having access to Coastal Kitchen and the suite areas gives you a nice escape when the rest of the ship is buzzing.”

Dining

The food on board is arguably one of the ship’s biggest strengths. The Main Dining Room delivers consistently good, elegant meals, and Windjammer keeps things interesting with plenty of variety throughout the day. However, the speciality restaurants are where things really get exciting. Chops Grille, Izumi, Hooked Seafood, and Wonderland each bring something totally different. Whether you’re in the mood for a perfectly done steak or a quirky, theatrical dining experience, you will find it on board. Even the quick-service spots hit the mark: Sorrento’s is ideal for a pizza fix, and the Boardwalk Dog House is great for a quick snack between activities.

What our Team thought...

“I never felt stuck eating the same thing twice. Some nights were relaxed and casual, others felt like a proper dining experience. The speciality restaurants are worth it, but even the everyday options were solid and never felt like an afterthought.”

Entertainment

Evenings on Wonder seem to develop their own rhythm. The AquaTheatre shows are a standout with high divers, acrobatics, and stunts you genuinely don’t expect to see on a ship. Meanwhile, the Royal Theatre hosts energetic, polished productions that feel like a big night out in the city. Beyond the energetic shows, the smaller venues each carry their own vibe. Live music spills out of the pub, Boleros is perfect if you prefer something smoother and more laid-back, and the Promenade stays buzzing late into the night. And if you’re feeling brave (or just want a laugh), Spotlight Karaoke never fails to entertain.

What our Team thought...

“There’s always something going on in the evenings, but you’re never forced into it. Some nights I watched the big shows, other nights I just followed the music and ended up somewhere unexpected. It’s that mix of planned and spontaneous that makes it work.”

Activities

On Wonder of the Seas, your days can be as busy or as slow as you like. The Ultimate Abyss slide is fast and addictive, The Perfect Storm water slides deliver a proper thrill, and the zip line across the Boardwalk is one of those “I’ll just try it once… okay maybe twice” activities. There’s also mini golf, FlowRider surf simulators, escape rooms and more… you won’t run out of things to do. And when you’re ready to unwind, the Solarium offers a warm, adults-only hideaway. The Vitality Spa is perfect for switching off completely, and the gym has all the equipment necessary for a solid workout at sea.

What our Team thought...

“You can keep yourself busy from morning to night if you want, or just dip in and out. I tried a few of the big attractions, skipped others, and still felt like I’d had a full day. There’s no pressure - you do as much or as little as suits you.”

Shore Experiences

Once you step off the ship, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. There’s everything from deep-sea snorkelling and immersive local food tours to relaxed, slow-paced sightseeing trips. Each excursion is thoughtfully designed to give you a wonderful snapshot of the destination.

What our Team thought...

“Getting off the ship felt straightforward and well organised. Whether I wanted to be active or just explore at my own pace, there were good options. Each day ashore felt different, which kept the itinerary interesting.”

Conclusion

Wonder of the Seas isn’t the sort of ship you tick off once and move on from. She’s bold and impressive, yet warm and full of charm, with little touches that stick with you long after the trip is over. Families gravitate to her, couples love her atmosphere, and groups return because she simply gets so many things right – food, entertainment, energy, and comfort. If you want a holiday that’s varied, effortless, and packed with moments you’ll talk about afterwards, Wonder of the Seas is absolutely worth considering. It might just be the perfect time to start planning. Be sure to check out our latest Wonder of the Seas deals!
