Cruises from South Korea

A cruise departing from South Korea usually sails from Incheon, close to the capital city of Seoul in the north west, and also Busan to the south east. Incheon International Airport is close to the Cruise Terminal, offering stunning views over the bay as you cross the Incheon Bridge. Meanwhile, Busan is usually served by Gimhae International Airport, also a short transfer away from the city centre and cruise port. A majority of cruises from South Korea take in the wider Far East, with sailings from Seoul heading west to visit China and south to Vietnam and Thailand, while Busan departures usually head east to cruise around Japan.

Cruises to South Korea

Cruises stopping by in South Korea typically visit Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island.

  • Seoul - in the capital, the highlights are the stunning Gyeongbokgung Palace, bustling Insadong District and incredible vistas from the N Seoul Tower
  • Busan - the Gamcheon Culture Village and lively Jagalchi Fish Market are musts for a real feel and flavour of this characterful city
  • Jeju - a volcanic island to the far south of the country with mountains and caves offering tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland

Cruise Lines

With both the main ports of Incheon and Busan, plus Jeju, all being large, international ports as well as the country’s geography and location as a peninsula between China and Japan, many cruise lines regularly sail to and from South Korea throughout the year with ship size not being a limitation. As a result, even the largest ships from cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, NCL and Princess can make port in the republic without needing tenders, also making them convenient for those with limited mobility. In addition, smaller, more luxury cruise lines stop off in South Korea too, such as Seabourn, Azamara, Silversea, Explora Journeys and Regent.
