In the world of cruising, there are many cruise line private islands and resorts. Perfect Day CocoCay is Royal Caribbean’s own island retreat in the Bahamas, beautifully designed for families who want to spend quality time together in a setting unlike any other. The island mixes clear blue water, bright attractions, and quiet spots to relax, creating a getaway that feels perfectly balanced. Whether you’re after high-energy activities or a calm place to switch off, there’s something here for every type of traveller.
Our team have experienced Perfect Day CocoCay first-hand! Check out how they got on in this comprehensive blog.
Thrill Waterpark is where families really shake off the day and dive into the fun. Slides shoot up everywhere you look, with smaller splash spots for little ones and big pools that seem made for noisy laughter. Daredevil’s Peak towers over everything, giving you that quick moment of “should I?” before you drop. It’s the kind of place where grown-ups forget they’re grown-ups and everyone ends up revealing that inner child within them.
If you’d rather slow down, Chill Island feels like a deep breath. You can expect soft sands, soothing blue waters, and plenty of room to stretch out, making it super easy to unwind. Some families snorkel the reef, others just sit back and listen to the water slide up the shore. It’s peaceful in a way that sneaks up on you, and it balances out the island’s wilder moments perfectly.
Oasis Lagoon has a way of pulling everyone together. Kids splash toward the shallows while adults drift over to the swim-up bar or tuck into shaded spots around the edges. The soundtrack hums in the background, and the water stays cool enough to keep you floating for ages. Whether you’re hanging on the steps chatting or just drifting with a drink, it’s easy, relaxed fun.
Perfect Day CocoCay makes dining easy and delicious. Snack Shacks keep families fuelled with burgers, chicken sandwiches, fresh salads, and sweets that kids devour instantly. For something a little special, private areas like Coco Beach Club offer an upgraded, island-inspired menu. No matter where you eat, the portions are generous, and the flavours are delightful.
There’s a constant, happy buzz around the island that gives the whole place its charm. Music rolls across the beaches, little games pop up as you wander, and the crew keep things light without ever pushing too hard. Kids tend to find fun without even trying, while adults dip in and out as they please. It’s simple, upbeat, and just feels good to be a part of.
For families who love a little wonder, the Up, Up & Away helium balloon ride offers a sky-high look at the entire island. Floating gently above CocoCay, you see the bright blues of the water blend with the colourful attractions below. It’s peaceful, surprising, and unlike anything else on the island. Many guests call it one of their favourite moments of the whole cruise.
Younger cruisers get their own world of fun with Splashaway Bay and Captain Jill’s Galleon. These spaces are full of sprays, slides, and buckets that tip without warning – basically paradise for playful kids and the epitome of Royal Caribbean as a whole! Parents can kick back nearby as the kids burn through their energy at full speed. It’s fun, a little messy, and gives the smallest adventurers their own bit of island magic.
The Hideaway has a fun, grown-up vibe while still feeling very much like CocoCay. There’s upbeat music, a huge infinity pool right by the beach, and loads of space to stretch out. Adults drift between the water and the loungers, friends chat over cocktails, and couples claim the daybeds with those easy ocean views. It all feels relaxed but lively at the same time – a great spot if you want a little peace, but still enjoy being part of the island’s happy, holiday atmosphere.
Coco Beach Club is the island’s quiet retreat, tucked away with a calmer feel and plenty of space to breathe. The overwater cabanas look like something from a luxury travel retreat, and the infinity pool is an easy place to lose track of time. The food is a step up, the service is gentle and attentive, and the whole area invites you to slow right down. Perfect for families who enjoy a softer pace.
One things for sure, Royal Caribbean cruises to Perfect Day CocoCay exceed all expectations. Families can pack the day with excitement, take it slow under the palms, cool off in the pools, or sit back and enjoy lunch with a view of the ocean. The whole island has an easy, feel-good atmosphere, and it’s the kind of place where small moments turn into forever memories to cherish down the line. Our Cruise Experts know the island inside out, so you’ll have all the insight you need to get the most from your visit. Excellent Service. Will Saxton was friendly , knowledgeable and highly efficient. In the space of one phone callWill was able to give a detailed quote for our cruise including our request for a longer stay in the destination port, flights from Glasgow , the cruise and hotels at either end of the cruise with all transport included. No hard sell . Will emailed the quote the same day and returned our call to book the cruise as quoted. He had great knowledge and could book connecting flights from Scotland easily. We can now deposit our bags at Glasgow Airport and they are booked straight through to our final destination. Delighted with the service and looking forward to our cruise
