The magic of the Mediterranean & the beauty of Britain

In March 2021, Queen Elizabeth returns to UK and European waters for a series of exciting new voyages, calling at over 100 ports in 22 countries. She’ll offer unprecedented itineraries showcasing Britain’s coastline as well as further departures from Southampton covering destinations from the tip of Norway to the Iberian Coast. Queen Elizabeth will then embark on a series of fly-cruises in the Mediterranean, departing from Barcelona before returning to Melbourne in December.

Programme highlights:

Western Mediterranean

Historic feats, sun-drenched beaches and architectural wonders are the cornerstone of Queen Elizabeth’s Western Mediterranean voyages in 2021. Drink in the splendour of Gaudi’s famous unfinished church - the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona or stand where Gladiators once ventured into battle on a tour to Rome’s famous Colosseum from Civitavecchia. Gibraltar with its inquisitive Barbary apes and sea caves (not to mention its iconic red phone boxes) is another highlight, while Cartagena will delight with its natural harbour and historic castle. Just south of Pisa, Livorno’s medieval fortifications and fresh seafood offer much to savour, while Italy’s famous leaning tower is just half an hour from port.

Scenic Cruising

In 2021, Queen Elizabeth will embark on a short scenic cruise season in UK waters, offering an unprecedented itinerary showcasing Britain’s coastline. Keeping close to land, she will travel roundtrip from Southampton on an illuminating series of sail-bys, allowing those on board to escape the everyday and immerse in the beauty of Britain’s breath-taking scenery. Highlights of her scenic voyages include the Isles of Scilly and Scotland’s Sound of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. Guests will enjoy uninterrupted sailing from departure to disembarkation, with the freedom to explore Queen Elizabeth at leisure.   Western Europe

Western Europe

The canal cities of Amsterdam and Copenhagen are two highlights to enjoy on Queen Elizabeth’s Western Europe itineraries. Overnight calls offer chance to explore these vibrant destinations after dark, while a late departure from Rotterdam - Europe’s largest port - ensures famous architectural sights like the Erasmus Bridge and cube houses aren’t missed. Museum fans will delight in the calibre on offer in Oslo, with Edvard Munch’s famous painting, The Scream, among the celebrated works on display at the National Gallery. While a stop in Gothenburg provides the perfect opportunity to indulge in a taste of gravlax or the humble Swedish pastime of Fika.

Atlantic Coast / Iberia

Spain’s Basque country and Portugal’s colourful capital, Lisbon, are among the destinations Queen Elizabeth will call at on this exploration of the Atlantic coast and Iberia. Sail the Bay of Biscay and step ashore in Gijon, where characterful sidrerias (cider bars) and an enchanting Old Town will catapult you back in time. The gastronomic delights of Bilbao and the Galician city of La Coruna are further highlights on her Northern Spain itineraries in 2021, while Portugal brings opportunity to indulge in a pastel de nata (the country’s famous custard tart) in Lisbon and syrupy thick port from the Duoro Valley in Porto.
