Just 40 minutes by car or an hour by train, Greenock serves as Glasgow’s local cruise terminal. Although less busy than larger UK cruise ports, Greenock does offer seasonal departures leaving throughout the year.
A number of cruise lines offer cruises from Greenock seasonally. Not only mainstream brands like P&O Cruises and Marella but also smaller ships such as Hurtigruten and Ponant. Meanwhile, other cruise lines such as Princess, Celebrity, Holland America and MSC Cruises, do stop by as a port of call to visit Glasgow and day trips to wider western Scotland.
As many of the cruise ships cruising from Greenock are smaller, they can visit ports of call otherwise inaccessible to other larger vessels, allowing cruises from Greenock to boast more niche itineraries than you’ll typically find for other, larger departure ports. As well as the wider British Isles, cruises from Greenock also typically head to Northern Europe, such as Norway and Iceland, as well as south to France and the Netherlands.
Durationwise, these cruises range from shorter mini cruises of only 3 to 5 days to longer voyages of up to two weeks. In terms of budget there is a lot of choice too, from cheap, last-minute deals to luxury, all-inclusive packages and even cruise and stay holidays available.
For more no-fly options, see all our cruises from Scotland. Alternatively, see our fly cruises from Glasgow if looking for more choice sailing to more far-away destinations, such as the Caribbean and Dubai.

Excellent Service. Will Saxton was friendly , knowledgeable and highly efficient. In the space of one phone callWill was able to give a detailed quote for our cruise including our request for a longer stay in the destination port, flights from Glasgow , the cruise and hotels at either end of the cruise with all transport included. No hard sell . Will emailed the quote the same day and returned our call to book the cruise as quoted. He had great knowledge and could book connecting flights from Scotland easily. We can now deposit our bags at Glasgow Airport and they are booked straight through to our final destination. Delighted with the service and looking forward to our cruise
