A Southampton boy born and bred (ignore the 10 years living in Scotland), I have grown up seeing cruise ships daily. I could hear their horns from my bedroom, and the sound still reminds me of home.
I’ve been visiting these ships since my teen years, and not just on school trips, but also when the boat show came to town, or I met my mates down the park next to the port.
I joined CruiseKings in April 2026 and I'm excited to get aboard for my next cruise, and I’m sure I’ll write a blog about it when I do. I support the team as a Content Executive, which is a very fancy way to describe the guy that writes what’s on the website. You’ll be seeing my name on the blogs, and more.
I’ve been writing since my teens, but first got interested in travel writing after uni, where I joined a travel e-magazine. I had several trips across the UK as a national travel writer where my misadventures saw me get kicked out of Stonehenge for trespassing on National Trust land - I really only wanted a picture from the adjacent field, and didn’t want to pay the entry fee. Or, the unfortunate incident where I knocked a stranger's sunglasses to the floor on a packed Edinburgh Tram - it was match day, no room to move, and we both remained completely silent about the whole thing.
I have a few dream destinations, pictured above. The first is Norway. I’m chronically ginger and don’t tend to survive long in the heat. Much like the tins in your cupboard, I'm best kept in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Norway is one of the most beautiful places to see, and the fjords call my name. Living in Scotland I love to wild swim in the local Lochs, so a fjord dip would be a fantastic experience. Obviously I would love to visit during the northern lights, but it takes a lot of planning and luck. Hopefully my colleagues will give me some tips.
I’d also love to visit Japan. The food and culture are big draws, but a trip on the bullet train is a bucket list goal. I’d love to hike on Mt Fuji, grab a bowl of ramen, and of course visit the Pokemon centre!
I don’t tend to sit too still for long, as travel is in my blood, I’m a Romani Gypsy and my feet get itchy pretty quickly. So once I get my passport replaced (my dog ate it, I wish I was joking), you’ll catch me on board some of your favourite cruise lines, discovering what the world has to offer a first time passenger.
Sarah Lee was excellent very helpful and explained everything in great detail.

The girl, Shona, was very pleasant and helpful. Got us what we wanted and the best deal. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. I'll be looking as soon as we return
